As a biomedical engineering material within the realm of medical supplies that comes into contact with the human physiological environment, medical adhesives possess a unique definition. According to international standards, medical adhesives are classified as Class III medical devices. This category primarily encompasses medical- grade α-cyanoacrylates; China has incorporated them into its Class III regulatory framework (specifically under category 6865-3) and has designated the *Fuaile Medical Adhesive Standard* (YZB/Guo 0941-2003) as the sole nationally recognized standard for the testing of medical adhesives.

In the medical field, the application of medical adhesives has been the subject of extensive exploration and practical application over a long period. From fundamental surgical procedures-such as achieving hemostasis and providing antimicrobial protection-to the suturing and repair of biological tissues, the potential scope of application for medical adhesives is vast. However, identifying an ideal medical adhesive remains a formidable challenge; to date, while thousands of adhesive formulations exist, only a select few meet the rigorous standards required for medical use.
